What we handle

If it's electrical and it can't wait — call.

These are the calls we take every week. If your situation isn't listed and it feels wrong, treat it as an emergency. Cutting power at the main breaker is always the safe first move.

01

Power outage in part of the house

Half the outlets are dead, a breaker won't reset, or lights flicker across rooms. Usually a tripped breaker, loose neutral, or failing panel bus. We isolate the fault before it becomes a fire risk.

02

Burning smell or smoke from an outlet

Stop using the circuit and call immediately. We de-energize the affected circuit, open the device, and replace damaged wire, receptacles, or breakers on the spot.

03

Sparking, buzzing, or hot panel

A warm breaker or an audible hum from the panel means arcing. We shut down safely, diagnose the offending breaker or lug, and repair or replace the panel components involved.

04

Storm, tree, or vehicle damage to service

Downed weatherhead, meter pulled off the wall, or damaged service entrance cable. We coordinate with PECO, install a temporary or permanent repair, and get you re-energized.

05

Water intrusion into electrical

Flooded basement panels, soaked outlets, or a leak onto a fixture. We kill power at the service, evaluate what's salvageable, and replace anything that got wet.

06

GFCI, AFCI, or breaker keeps tripping

Repeat trips mean a real fault — not a nuisance. We meter the circuit, find the ground fault or arc, and repair the wiring or device causing it.

How the call runs

From phone call to power back on.

01

Call (267) 483-1202

A licensed electrician picks up — not a call center. We triage over the phone and tell you what to shut off before we arrive.

02

Dispatch within the hour

Same-day response across Philadelphia and nearby neighborhoods. Fully stocked truck, so most repairs finish on the first visit.

03

Make safe, then repair

We isolate the hazard first — de-energize, lock out, verify dead. Then we diagnose, quote the repair, and complete the work.

04

Documented and code-compliant

Every emergency repair is done to NEC and Philadelphia L&I standards. You get photos, a written scope, and a receipt.

Before we arrive

Make the situation safe.

A few small moves can stop a bad problem from turning into a fire or a shock. If anything feels unsafe, get everyone out and call from outside the building.

  • Smell burning or see smoke → shut off the main breaker at the panel.
  • Sparking outlet or switch → do not touch it. Kill the breaker for that circuit.
  • Water on electrical → turn off main power before you enter the area.
  • Downed service line outside → stay 30 ft away and call PECO plus us.
  • Panel is hot, buzzing, or crackling → cut the main and leave the room.
  • Do not use extension cords or generators to bypass a failed circuit.
FAQ

Common questions before you call.

What counts as an electrical emergency?

Any burning smell, smoke, sparking, hot devices, panel noise, exposed live wire, water on electrical, or partial/total loss of power that isn't explained by a utility outage. When in doubt, call — triage is free.

How fast can you get here?

Most Philadelphia calls are on-site within 60–90 minutes. If we're further out or fully booked, we tell you honestly and help you make the circuit safe until we arrive.

Are you available nights and weekends?

Yes. Emergency dispatch is 24/7, including weekends and holidays. After-hours calls carry a call-out rate that's quoted before we roll.

What should I do before you arrive?

If it's safe, shut off the main breaker at the panel. Do not touch anything wet or anything that has smoked or sparked. Keep people and pets away from the affected area.

Do you work with PECO for service repairs?

Yes. For damaged weatherheads, meter pans, and service entrance conductors we coordinate the utility disconnect/reconnect and handle the customer-owned side of the repair.

Will insurance cover the repair?

For storm, fire, or water damage, most homeowner policies cover the repair. We provide itemized invoices, photos, and cause-of-loss notes your adjuster can use.
